Yes There Is Yard Maintenance in Paradise!

Updated: Nov 21, 2019

I know it's been a minute since my last post. There has been a whole lot going on. I will fill you in on some of it in our next video "Things Change" - Our 4 yr Costa Rica Update. Look for that in the next few weeks.

In the meantime, the rainy season is just about finished for the 2019 season (Yay) and with that will bring strong winds till sometime in January (Ick).

By the time the dry season comes around, our backyard looks a hot mess - to put it bluntly. Much of the house maintenance is deferred until the dry season, and this year we are getting a re-painting of our back wall, driveway and dog run. The old paint has already been blown off and a lot of the debris has fallen into the flower beds. I've also decided that those same flower beds are not suitable for plants. We've tried for 3 yrs and each year we end up re planting a different shrub and flowers because the ones the year before have dried up or rotted away. It has something to do with the rocks and the drainage So, this year I am NOT planting anything there, instead I am going to use already potted plants.

This necessitated a trip to our local vivero (nursery)

Below is short video of our visit. Absolutely love this vivero!

And a special shout-out to Ever, our gardener, I just watched while he did all the work.

This is phase one of the "garden makeover" I will keep you posted when it's all complete.
